Serve in Worship
One way to use your gifts in service is through worship. Whether it be in the choir, as a bell ringer, liturgist, or a greeter, your gifts are welcome here!
Greeters & Ushers

Ushers and greeters (inside and outside the building) are trained to provide the greatest hospitality and a meaningful worship experience for our guests and members.

Music Ministry
Music figures prominently in Methodist worship, a tradition that goes all the way back to our founder, John Wesley, who even took the trouble to include instructions on how to sing hymns in worship, found in his hymnal, Select Hymns: with Tunes Annext, published in 1761. Wesley’s younger brother, Charles, was a prolific hymn-writer whose familiar hymns are sung not only in United Methodist churches, but in virtually every other faith tradition.
Pinnacle View UMC is no exception to this deep and abiding appreciation for music in worship, as seen in the liturgies of our Sunday worship. Much care is devoted to selecting music that supports the theme being considered in the scripture, sermon and meditation each week. If you appreciate this level of attention to detail, you will enjoy our worship.
Better yet, if you have a special love of creating “beautiful sound,” PVUMC is the perfect place for you. We offer several channels of musical expression, including:
-
Our Chancel Choir is for singers from the 9th grade to adults and traditionally meets for rehearsals on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. They sing a variety of choral music during worship and are a fun-loving group of people with varying abilities for reading or not reading music, which allows greater participation.
-
The multigenerational Handbell Choir rehearses during the school year, traditionally taking a summer break. In the past, rehearsals were held on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. The day and time may change beginning Fall 2025. You do not need to read music to play bells as they are an instrument that works well for “on the job training.” To be a part of the Handbell Choir, contact our Director of Music Ministries, Lisa Hester, to see if a ringing spot is available. Many times, a spot is available! Our four octave newly refurbished handbells are Schulmerich Bells.
-
The church also has opportunities for vocal soloists, ensembles, and instrumentals to enhance the PVUMC worship service. Interested in serving the church through this form of music offering or know someone for us to ask? Let Lisa know.
Lisa Hester began serving as our Director of Music, Worship Arts and Organist on June 1, 2025. Lisa is the only certified United Methodist musician in the State of Arkansas, receiving certification from the Arkansas Conference in 2019 after completing education requirements from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. Before coming to Pinnacle View UMC, Lisa has served as Organist at Village UMC - Hot Springs Village, as Director of Music Ministries at St. Paul UMC - Little Rock, First Presbyterian Church - Benton, and Primrose UMC - Little Rock. Lisa is a Board Member of the Arkansas Handbell Musicians of America and a member of the Fellowship of Worship Arts and the American Guild of Organists.
If you are interested in participating with any of our music ministries, contact Lisa Hester, our Director of Music, Worship Arts, and Organist, who is never not looking for additional musicians
