Serve in Worship
One way to use your gifts in service is through worship. Whether it be in the choir, as a bell ringer, liturgist, or a greeter, your gifts are welcome here!

Music Ministry
Music figures prominently in Methodist worship, a tradition that goes all the way back to our founder, John Wesley, who even took the trouble to include instructions on how to sing hymns in worship, found in his hymnal, Select Hymns: with Tunes Annext, published in 1761. Wesley’s younger brother, Charles, was a prolific hymn-writer whose familiar hymns are sung not only in United Methodist churches, but in virtually every other faith tradition.
Pinnacle View UMC is no exception to this deep and abiding appreciation for music in worship, as seen in the liturgies of our Sunday worship. Much care is devoted to selecting music that supports the theme being considered in the scripture, sermon and meditation each week. If you appreciate this level of attention to detail, you will enjoy our worship.
Better yet, if you have a special love of creating “beautiful sound,” PVUMC is the perfect place for you. We offer several channels of musical expression, including:
-
Sings primarily traditional-style anthems and hymns arranged for four-part harmony, accompanied by organ or piano.
Choir members sing a variety of choral music as anthems; there are varying abilities to read or not read music, which allows greater participation.
-
Intergenerational group, using four octaves of bells newly refurbished and open to people interested in participating in music. You do not need to read music.
-
While choral music is a regular feature of worship, guest and instrumental soloists are sometimes a special part of the service.
