We recognize the importance of providing space where people of like minds, similar interests, or common curiosities can meet together for conversation and sharing. We have groups for LGBTQIA+ folx, women of all ages, youth, and kids! Keep reading to see what group fits your interests!

For Adults:

Meeting Location: Wing B

Meeting Time: 11:00 AM

Intergenerational group is team taught with topical and scriptural discussions and class conversation led by a moderator. Draws on books as well as other resources. Designated a UMC Reconciling Network Small Group, which supports full inclusion of the LGBTQ community.

A book-centered study and discussion group for mature women.

Meeting Location: Wing C

Meeting Time: 9:00 AM

A study group for women aged 40s and up, using book resources.

For Youth:

Multi-grade middle to high schoolers who participate in community outreach, such as local food pantry, collecting school supplies, and books for early literacy. 

Youth also participate in other mission opportunities, including Ozark Mission Project and Ingathering at the Arkansas Food Bank in November. We encourage youth to expand their connections by taking advantage of programs and activities of the Arkansas Conference of The United Methodist Church. For example, Veritas is an annual Arkansas-wide spiritual retreat for youth. Youth also join in PVUMC worship through music, singing, bell choir, scripture reading, and other ministry opportunities with youth from around the Central District. 

For Kids:

Young children, ages 2 to 7, have separate areas of enrichment and play, including outdoors when appropriate. They are also welcome to worship in the Sanctuary and Gathering Hall. Children are always included.

Available from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, young children join our to spend time in age-appropriate learning and hands-on fun in the Children’s Ministries wing.

PVUMC has two adult staff certified in Safe Gatherings training to insure the best care of our youngest, as well as stimulation and learning. 

Miss Mollie Halbrook

has been involved in church nurseries for 36 years. She has been a professional nanny with all ages of children for 26 years. She loves her little friends.

Miss Lauren Taylor

is a licensed social worker who has experience with children and youth in a variety of community settings and as a professional.
